Malcom Filipe Silva de Oliveira is a talented professional footballer signed by FC Barcelona from Bordeaux having hijacked a proposed switch to Roma in what was a controversial deal.
Malcom was born on 26th February, 1997 and is one of the best young football talents in the world. He is a player who can eitheir play on the wings or can be deployed as an attacking midfielder.
Malcom started his career as a youth player at Corinthians in Brazil. While he was their in 2014, he outshone others which earned him a call to first team football, having been called upon by coach Mano Menezes to join the main team of Corinthians. He quickly integrated himself and beacame a regular first team player at the club, scoring 10 goals in 73 games during the 2015 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A championship campaign.
He later moved to Bordeaux in France after his impressive display at Corinthians for an undisclosed fee on January 31, 2016. Malcom won the hearts of the fans with his dribbling skills, assists and eye for goals. At Bordeaux, he played for three seasons scoring 23 goals in 96 appearances at the club.
He was meant to join AS Roma from Bordeaux, after the club initially agreed a fee of €32 million with his agent. The unexpected happened as Barelona ursurped the deal and paid €41 million with an additional €1 million for add-ons.
Malcom, 21 signed a five-year deal with a release clause fixed at €400 million. He will join the likes of Lionel Messi, Philipe Coutinho, Suarez, Ousmane Dembele, Lenglet, Aurthur and the rest of the squad for the preseason matches before La Liga starts proper.
Malcom featured in Brazil’s under-20 team in the 2015 South American Youth Football Championship. He replaced Kenedy at scored 1 goal in 6 matches. Brazil finished 4th after loosing to Serbia. Playing at Barca will see him get a call for first team football in the National team.
How much will Malcom Earn at Barcelona?
Although Malcom’s salary at Barcelona is yet to be revealed, we can deduce he will earn about £150,000 per week at the club.
